The First Year Audit of the National Action Plan

Islamabad, May 25, 2015: The Center for Research and Security Studies launched The NAP Tracker today, which audits the government on all 20 points of the National Action Plan (NAP). It is an attempt to empirically deconstruct progress on the NAP, and to try and determine if it is sufficient, wide-ranging and most importantly, effective. The report also calls upon a range of experts, columnists and researchers to weigh in on the various themes related to the NAP, including Imtiaz Gul, Dr. Shoaib Suddle, Ahmer Bilal Soofi, Dr. Ehsan Sadiq, and Raza Rumi, among others. The report is researched, written and edited by Zeeshan Salahuddin, and assisted by Farhana Kanwal and Anam Fatima.

The NAP Tracker audits runs from the enactment of NAP on December 25, 2014, until January 24, 2016, a period of precisely 13 months. This allowed the researchers to look at the entirely of the year 2015. The report is divided into nine separate themes, derived from the 20 points of the NAP. The final chapter lists policy recommendations for the government.
