September 8, 2015, Peshawar: The Center for Research and Security Studies’ (CRSS) flagship radio program Sabawoon (New Dawn), on Tuesday, focused on the regional review of health, education, internally displaced people, and tourism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA.
The program was aired under the theme “Da Simy Jaaj” (Regional Review). Mr. Malik Ikram Ullah, who is a KP based educationist, participated as a studio guest in the program. Four research based field stories were collected from district Charsadda, Peshawar, Swat and Kurram Agency on the aforementioned themes.
One of these stories focused on the Kalam Festival, its importance for tourism in the Swat region and increasing flow of national tourists to the area. One story dealt with health conditions in the Kurram agency and the other related to IDP’s pictures exhibition at the Peshawar University. The fourth story highlighted achievements of government school students in district Charsadda. Ten students from this district grabbed ten of the top 20 positions in the Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education Peshawar.
For the development of our country, it is the need of the time to educate and empower our women, so that they can participate in all sectors of life. Approximately 70% of the female take admissions in medical colleges but because of the absence of safe and conducive work environment, they prefer not to continue with their professions. That is bad.
