This project was launched in January 2013 with the support of Canadian International Development Agency(CIDA). This youth-focused advocacy campaign is designed for the empowerment of future leaders of Balochistan. The primary objective of BYF is to build the intellectual and leadership capacity of youth from the embattled province. It aims to inform and educate Baloch youth in the centrality of a discourse embedded in universally acknowledged democratic values.
This advocacy is based on a two-way dialogue among the Baloch with Baloch and Baloch with non-Baloch Pakistanis on political rights, rule of law, non-violent resolution of conflicts, and the need for equality among citizens. These endeavors aim to enhance the understanding and knowledge of youth about the political processes and institutions, which are always at the core of governance system in a democratic state. Moreover the informed discourse and dialogue aims to raise political awareness in order to induce Baloch youth into a more rational approach about the prevailing crisis of security and governance. This advocacy is designed to encourage the stakeholders to claim their rights through a democratic discourse and political means. Supported by regular syndicated radio programmes from seven stations in and outside Balochistan, also aims to help Baloch youth raise voice from this platform, ventilate their grievances and pursue their socio-political and economic rights in a democratic way.
